MYSTERY FERRY ANSWER FOR MAY:
The Steamer Kulshan.
And not one wrong answer!
The Ferry Photo of the Month...

is courtesy of Mike Demopoulos.  This spring has seen two very unusually strong windstorms, one in April and another in May.  This photo explifies why when the captain tells passengers to stay in the cabin it is prudent to do so.  Here the Elwha slams into a wave in Rosario Strait, sending water well over the front of the ferry  (see the spray up to the second level car deck widows at right.)  Aside from the possibility of getting wet, it isn't out of the question to get washed overboard as well.  When the wind blows and the surf is up, it is best to be in the passenger cabin.
OLYMPIC UPDATE:
The ferry is back afloat and suffered no damage after her recent grounding on Ketron Island.  Thanks to Paul Kenma for the photo and the update.
The Google Earth place for the month is the Ennis House...

William Castle chose the  dwelling in the Los Feliz  neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, USA, south of Griffith Park for the setting of the 1959 B movie classic. The home was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for Charles and Mabel Ennis in 1923, and built in 1924.
Seemingly an odd choice for a schlocky horror flick, the house nonetheless managed to look threatening for the film.  Check out the Wikipedia entry on the home  here:

Having enjoyed a successful second life, the Skansonia is in clear need of some work.  It appears the hull is "hogging" which is resulting in the vinyl  siding popping off. Photo courtesy of Matt Masuoka.

The Queen of New Westminster sails into the sunset in another photography by Mike Bonkowski.  B.C. Ferries renewal program has stopped for now, but the original members of the fleet have been reduced greatly over the last few years.
All  hail the Hypnotoad!
