THE FERRIES OF OREGON
For years before the Astoria Bridge was built the ferry between Astoria and Megler, Washington was one of the quickest ways to get across the Columbia.  Retired more than 40 years ago, the ferries that once made the crossing are long forgotten--yet amazingly, the old Tourist # 2, above, survives.  Photo courtesy of Matt Masuoka.
